Surviving elements of the Christian church and other faiths brought solace and peace to the worried minds of the remnants, and a desire to survive - no, a desire to overcome - suffused the human race. Humanity returned to deep-seated traditions, first as a manner of survival and then more as a means of remaining united, that focused on faith and family.
Led by the genius engineer Manfredo Virini, a native of Italy, societies of mankind made their way to the settlement established on the ruins of Geneva, Switzerland, to join together in a singular community aimed at escaping the chains of the broken terrestrial realm that had been humankind's only home since time immemorial. After the atomic devastation of World War III ravaged Earth in 2064, the tattered remnants of humanity emerged from a century of confinement underground and slowly rebuilt communities and restored a tiny portion of the planet, within which they came to the realization that they had to get off that now-broken world before it was too late. Imperium Galactica takes place within the Milky Way Galaxy, roughly 8,000 years in the future. I hope anyone who finds it, and who peruses its pages, will enjoy their visit.
